Naval Sea Cadets undergo training

-A A +A

A group of cadets from the US Naval Sea Cadets Corps in Yankeetown has returned from their first training.

They spent two weeks in Jacksonville at the Mayport Recruit Training. The cadets bunked on hotel barges, ate in the same galley the sailors use and learned the basics of being a Sea Cadet.

While on base they toured several ships, a helicopter and watched a presentation by trained K-9s. The cadets had a graduation on the last day in front of proud friends and family. This is the beginning of many great opportunities for our new cadets to enjoy.      For more information or to join this  group contact  Commanding Officer Lt. jg Todd Dunn at 352-212-5473 or www.manateediv.org.   or www.seacadets.org.
