Paint your yard with the beautiful colors of native plants that are adapted to Florida's variable weather conditions, and are easy to maintain.
Take advantage of the largest offering of native plants in North Florida during the 2013 Fall Native Plant sale, at Morningside Nature Center in Gainesville, on Saturday, Sept. 28. The center is open to the general public from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. An exclusive member's sale is on Friday, Sept. 27, 4:30-6:30 p.m., and is open to members of the Friends of Nature Parks (FNP) and Paynes Prairie chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society (FNPS) only. Memberships are available at the gate.
Cash, checks, and credit/debit cards accepted.
The sale is hosted cooperatively by the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department, the Friends of Nature Parks (FNP) and Paynes Prairie chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society (FNPS).
The Sale features:
• Thousands of beautiful native shrubs, trees, wildflowers, ferns, grasses, and vines grown at area nurseries, fantastic offering of colors and textures, native plants for all prices!
• Free expert plant advice at the Florida Native Plant Society (FNPS) booth
• Free Park-A-Plant service that allows you to shop hands-free while we tag, store, and help load your plants
• Free naturalist-led wildflower walk at 11:30 am
• Family-Fun event!

Proceeds from the sale benefit environmental and cultural history programs offered by the City of Gainesville’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs.
