Murder of Scarecrows opens Friday

-A A +A

The Suwannee Valley Players announce the opening of the comedy thriller “Murder of Scarecrows” by Pat Cook. Gerald and Cristine Dandridge, played by Andy and Bobbie Kidd, always give a Halloween party for their friends, Anthony and Lydia Murray, (Rob and Jill Hart), Jimmy Starnes (Austin Ross) and Shirley Frohman (Kelci Grant) and Jack Clancy (Greg Mercier) and Clarice Jarrett (Emily Baker).
This year, however, they're having the party at their country house. It's a nice little fixer-upper with all the conveniences and one haunted scarecrow. At least, that's the story that came with the house. The night of the party things barely get under way when someone notices the scarecrow has vanished. Clarice concerned for the missing Jack calls 911 to report him missing and the case is "assigned" to Officer McElroy (Janice Grant). Things get rowdy when the scarecrow keeps disappearing and reappearing ... when ever it wants!
Of course, there’s also the mystery of the missing ax. It is a real haunting? Is it a possessed scarecrow? And who has the ax? Come out and join the fun and mystery as Gerald, Anthony, Jimmy and Jack try to solve the mystery of the "murder" of scarecrows. Show times are 8 pm Fri. and Sat. Sept. 16 and 17, 23rd and 24th and 2:30 pm on Sunday Sept. 18 and 25.  Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for students (K-12) and seniors 65 or older.  Visit www.svplayers.org for more information.Murder of Scarecrows is produced under special arrangement with Eldridge Publishing Company.Productions are held at the Chief Theatre, 25 E.
