Moonlight paddle at Manatee on Oct. 23

-A A +A

The Department of Environmental Protection’s Manatee Springs State Park is hosting a moonlight paddle event on Oct. 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. — weather permitting. The moonlight paddle will consist of a guided canoe/kayak tour on the Suwannee River.  Participants will learn the history of the river while enjoying the beautiful scenery by moonlight.  The Citizen Support Organization will provide a short program following the moonlight paddle.  Light refreshments will be served.  Either bring your own or reserve a canoe/kayak through Suwannee Guides and Outfitters at 352-542-8331 for $15. Don’t forget to bring a lifejacket and safety whistle if bringing your own canoe/kayak. Please dress appropriately for weather and bring drinking water and a flashlight.  For safety reasons we ask that you leave very young children and pets at home.  The program is free with regular Park fees.
