The Bronson Youth League has a new president in Gary Mitchell.

Mitchell is proud that the youth sports organization is offering basketball for the first time.

There are 50 kids involved. The first games were played Jan. 5 at Newberry. Mitchell is hoping to have games played in Bronson, although a gym hadn't been secured as of Jan. 7. Mitchell said he would be meeting with the school board to discuss that.

Meanwhile, registration for Bronson Youth League spring sports is now through Feb. 21.

Kids can sign up for baseball, softball, soccer and football at Town Hall. Daytime hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evening hours are 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Registration fees for baseball and softball are $60. Football is $40. Soccer is $30 renew or $55 new.

There is a $15 late fee after Feb. 21.
