Chiefland High School graduate Matt McLelland is back at the school — this time as principal.
McLelland, who was assistant principal at the school last year, was before the end of the year transferred to Williston High School, where he was promoted to principal.
Last week, he accepted a job as principal at Trenton High School in Gilchrist County.
On Tuesday evening, McLelland, despite his earlier job acceptance in Trenton, confirmed that he was back at CHS. His first day on the job was Wednesday.
He graduated from CHS in 1993 and went on to attend Santa Fe Community College and Saint Leo University where he earned bachelors and masters degrees.
McLelland replaces Bill Tovine who resigned earlier this summer after his wife, Assistant Superintendent Gina Tovine, accepted a position with another school district.
