It may have taken 20 years to win election as sheriff, but Bobby McCallum is not looking back. On Tuesday night, as he accepted the hugs and well-wishes of supporters, he said he is ready to go to work on Jan. 8. In unofficial results from all 11 precincts in Levy County, McCallum received 10,247 votes or 57.91 percent of the ballots to opponent Lee Sullivan's 7,447, or 42.08 percent. McCallum, who had run as a Democrat in previous races ran as a Republican this year winning a bitter primary battle against Sheriff's Maj. Evan Sullivan in the august Republican primary.
