Man pleads guilty to traffic citation in accident

William Harry Couey, of Trenton, pleaded guilty on June 5 to a traffic citation of failing to have brakes on a trailer in connection with a March 9 traffic accident that left him and two children hospitalized and a woman dead.  

Tara Nicole Bruderly of Trenton, was driving north on County Road 347 when she failed to stop at County Road 346A and struck the flatbed trailer being towed by Couey. A tractor on the trailer fell off and hit Bruderly's vehicle. 

Bruderly and her passenger Kaylee Bruderly, 11, were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident although another passenger, Alden Bruderly, an infant, was strapped in. Couey was wearing a seatbelt.

Levy County Judge James T. Browning fined Couey $113 on the brake citation.
