I feel compelled to write this letter about a man I love; a man of joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. He is one of my best friends; he is my brother. Our families often eat together, have great cookouts and fish fries, and travel and vacation together. One of our most precious hobbies is genealogy. Sammy is a great historian of the Yearty family, and of Levy County. He has a remarkable memory. Although he is always available for his family, he has been dedicated to all in Levy County for 30 years.
In his position of County Commissioner, he has accomplished the greater portion of responsibilities with an exceptionally high degree of knowledge. He has made major recommendations with reference to scope requirements, feasibility and responsibility. This has included specific projects that were referred to the county by higher authority government agencies, cities or municipalities within the county, and corporations and businesses alike. He has the knowledge and experience to explain main features of various government-wide programs and has always worked to achieve their objectives and policies. Sammy has always ensured that all actions taken are consistent with state, county, and city statutes and regulations. His actions have been accepted as professionally correct.
When my husband and I retired, we moved back to Gulf Hammock and bought a home to be set-up on our property. I clearly remember Sammy saying “I’ll help you.” And thankfully he did. He told us about the survey we needed, permits, culvert, electricity, well, inspections, etc. “You have to do things according to the rules.” This is also what Sammy told alias Sean Michaels of Gideon Development who is now known as Sean Quinn of FBI.
I know from the evidence presented and I know in my heart Sammy is not guilty of conspiring to take a bribe, taking a bribe and lying to a federal agent’s 670 word question. He has clearly been a target of entrapment.
