Log Cabin Quilters: Dec. 9

-A A +A

Museum Director
The Log Cabin Quilters met Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Levy County Quilt Museum.  We are having a great time with our Quilt Show. We will leave everything as is until the first of the year, and then it’s time to get ready to take quilts and crafts to Tampa for the Florida State Fair.
The week after we take the items to Tampa, we go back down to judge the entries. After all the entries are judged, others set up the displays for the fair.  We’ll go down on Feb. 15 on the bus to enjoy a day at the fair and see what ribbons our quilts and crafts won.
If you want to go on the bus with us, call 352-493-2801. The cost is $23, and we will have passes for everyone. The bus is filling up. It will leave Chiefland at 7 a.m. and Williston at 7:30 a.m. We leave Tampa at 4:30 p.m., so we can be home by dark. It is a fun day.
We have many things coming up. We will be taking donations on the log house model that was given to us a few years ago, and we will be keeping the larger model. They are both beautiful houses, but we only have room for one.
We also have lots of Christmas crafts for sale. There are so many beautiful items this year. This is our 17th Quilt Show, and we look forward to it every year.
Thursday lunch was great with chicken noodle soup, turkey salad, pea salad, crackers, bread, apple pie, brownies, pecan pie, banana muffins, lemon cake and much more.  It was a dessert day, but it was all very good.
