Levy fireworks shows Thursday, Friday

 Williston

 

   City of Williston will “Celebrate Old Glory”  Thursday, July 3 starting with the parade at 5 p.m. More than 110 entrants have registered for the parade that will wind its way down Noble Avenue. Scheduled participants include Smoky Bear, a roller derby team, candidates, a square dance club and of course, lots of antique cars and tractors.

   Immediately after the parade, festivities start in Williston Horseman’s Park located on Hwy 41,  one mile south of Williston. There is a $2 per carload donation requested but not required. Parking will be done by the Cowboy Church.

   Opening ceremonies at 7 p.m. There will be food, rides, vendors and musical entertainment  from local performers, including Amber Richburg, Billie Brock, Lexi Zapata and Mindy Shouse. The main attraction again this year is Ocala’s Shane Wooten.

  Admission to the park is free. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. No coolers, pets, alcohol or fireworks will be allowed inside the gates. Fireworks will begin at dusk.

 

Bronson

 

   On Friday evening, the Town of Bronson will hold its annual July 4 fireworks display. According to Town Clerk Kelli Brettel, the Independence Day celebration starts at 4 p.m. at James H. Cobb Park with concessions and a D.J. The fireworks will start right at dusk.

 

Cedar Key

 

   Cedar Key will celebrate Independence Day with fireworks. Fireworks will be set off starting at dusk at Cemetery Point Park on Friday, July 4. For the best viewing, Cedar Key Police Chief Virgil Sandlin is advising visitors to park at the ball field behind the school. Signs will be posted with directions to the parking area.

 

 Engine, tractor show in Old Town

“The Great Engines of the Past” will be presented by the Florida Antique Power Club when it holds its 2nd Annual Fly Wheel Engine & Tractor Show on July 4-6 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. This year's exhibit will feature a rock crushing demonstration. 

The show is at 286 N.E. 112 Ave., Old Town. 

Exhibitors are invited to bring their engines and tractors to display. There will be tent camping on July 2-3 with food vendors on site and Portalet facilities.
