The Levy Country Soil Water Conservation District announces the winners of the 2011 poster contest

   The Levy County Soil and Water Conservation District is happy to announce the winners of the 2011 poster contest.  This year the theme was “Forest for People, More than You Can Imagine.”   
n Kindergarten through 1st grade division:
1st place Alexandria Epperson, 2nd Tristan Sloan, 3rd Levi Brinkman, all from Cedar Key School.
n 2nd and 3rd grade division:
1st place Katlynn Karwan, from Williston Elementary, 2nd Natalie Stewart, from Cedar Key Elementary, 3rd Amanda Robinson, also from Cedar Key Elementary.
n 4th through 6th grade division:
1st place Jaden Malveauy, of Williston Elementary, 2nd place Holly Bishop, from Cedar Key Elementary, 3rd place LouMarie Hidaglo, of Williston Elementary.
n 7th through 9th grade division:
1st place  Marissa Phillips, of Bronson Middle School, 2nd Austin Homan, of Bronson Middle and 3rd place Ty Barber, also of Bronson Middle School.   
   All first, second and third place winners received a ribbon, certificate and small monetary prize from the Levy Soil and Water Conservation District, and all 1st and 2nd place winners were taken to the Area III District Competition in Live Oak. From there, all first place winners were taken to the State Competition in Ocala, in August. Thank you to all who participated and congratulations to all the winners. Cedar Key Elementary student Tristan Sloan’s poster went on to compete in the state competition in Ocala on Aug. 12 and placed third in his age group.
