My name is Lee Sullivan, I started my law enforcement career in Levy County where I grew up and graduated from Chiefland High School and I hope to complete my career as Levy County sheriff.
After high school, I served in the United States Navy as a Seabee and upon my return to Levy County in 1981, I worked in construction and gunsmithing. I realized that my heart was in service to our community so I started my law enforcement career as a corrections officer with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office and then moved to Marion County when I was offered the opportunity to become a patrol deputy. The preceding 27 years have shown me how much law enforcement and corrections have changed. With ever changing technology and the demands of doing more with less, I have the experience and skills to lead the Levy County Sheriff’s Office through these tough economic times. My record as a leader is well documented; I have worked and/or supervised almost every area of law enforcement. I worked for a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Leo University and continued my education by earning a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University. I am committed to the advancement of law enforcement and teach as an adjunct professor for the University of North Florida where I instruct a variety of law enforcement related classes. As a recognized subject matter expert in the field of drug enforcement, I have instructed drug unit commanders from all over the country on how to effectively and efficiently manage a drug unit.
The Office of Sheriff serves the people of Levy County. This means ALL the people. I am running for Sheriff with no party affiliation because I want to be Sheriff of ALL the people of Levy County. I will be your fair and impartial Sheriff. Your Sheriff’s Office with Lee Sullivan as sheriff will be professional, accountable and transparent.
