The Central Florida Community College Levy Center will offer its first guided Ecotourism Field Trip on Saturday, Jan. 23. The trip is part of the Ecotourism Business Workshops program that begins on Jan. 11.
The trip is open to the public and includes visits to both Manatee Springs State Park and Fanning Springs State Park, with lunch in Fanning Springs. Participants will also visit Point of View Gifts & Antiques and Dakotah Winery.
Although designed for local small businesses owners and their employees, all area residents who want to learn more about the natural attractions of the Nature Coast are welcome.
Participants will convene at the Levy Center at 114 Rodgers Blvd. in Chiefland at 9 a.m. and will then caravan/car pool to the various destinations. The trip will conclude at the Levy Center about 3 p.m. The tour guide is Bill Kilborn.
Pre-registration is required by noon Tuesday, Jan. 19. The fee of $49 includes all park/museum admission but does not include cost of lunch.
