Professor Jack E. Davis will offer a brief survey of Florida history from the pre-Spanish
Period to the present through the lens of the human relationship with the natural environment.
Davis has a B.A. in political science, an M.A. and PH.D. in American History. He is an associate professor of history at the University of Florida, where he specializes in environmental, southern and Florida History. He serves on the editorial boards at Tampa Bay History and the Florida Historical Quarterly.
