A national hold on licensing nuclear reactors is not expected to affect the proposed power plant in Levy County.
With no permanent place to store spent fuel, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has suspended decisions on issuing new or renewal licenses for nuclear reactors.
The policy affects the Levy County nuclear plant, the Crystal River nuclear plant and 21 other licensing actions, according to the NRC.
