Our Chiefland Indian roundballers are suffering. Several weeks ago the teams’ uniforms were stolen and to date they have not been recovered.
Last week Sports Editor Jenna McKenna detailed the plight of our student athletes and made an appeal for the community to help.
We echo that appeal as we believe the representatives of our school deserve better than the hand that was dealt them.
In this season of Thanksgiving, we challenge every man, woman and child who ever played a high school sport and is thankful for the experience to rally behind the basketball players and dig into your piggy banks to help fund new uniforms. If every former athlete donates only $1, it won’t be long before the Indians can don new gear.
We give thanks for the young men and women who represent our community and know they deserve to be outfitted in apparel that befits their talent and willingness to be Chiefland ambassadors.
