Lynetta Usher Griner, an officer of Usher Land & Timber of Chiefland, has been elected president-elect of the Florida Forestry Association for the next two years. Griner, an attorney, works for the family-owned timber operation.
Bryan J. Olmert, president of Loncala, Inc. a land and timber operation in Alachua County was elected president of the association during the group's meeting in Destin on Sept. 9.
Griner has been an attorney for 28 years, leaving private practice to work for her family timber business. She gained valuable experience in land-management issues as a former member of the governing board of the Suwannee River Water Management District. She has also worked with Friends of Fanning Springs, a citizen-support organization for Fanning Springs State Park. In addition she was a member of the Florida Forever Advisory Council, which evaluated Florida Forever projects when the program was set up as a replacement for Preservation 2000.
Olmert received the gavel from outgoing President Mike Gaff.
