Gent finishes super year with Owls

Cortez Gent, a 2005 Chiefland High graduate, finished up an outstanding football season at Florida Atlantic University.

Gent, a redshirt sophomore wide receiver for the Owls, was instrumental in FAU's finest season ever.

The Owls finished up 2007 by playing in their first bowl game ever –the New Orleans Bowl. The Owls played Memphis on Friday night, Dec. 22.

FAU defeated the Tigers, 44-27, to finish with a record of 8-5.

This was only the seventh year of football at FAU.
