Chiefland City Commissioners sought public input on how to use the octagon-shaped building, which currently sits near the Chiefland Fire Rescue station.
Grace Andersen, treasurer of the Friends of Luther Callaway Public Library, said this group has an idea. The Friends sell books to raise money for the library, Andersen said. For instance, during the failed 2007 Chiefland Watermelon Festival, even though it was rained out, there were 10 people who showed up to buy books at the library. The Friends made $192 for the Luther Callaway Public Library that day, she said.
