Free strings at Dixie Music Center

-A A +A

Dixie Music Center will be holding a "Customer Appreciation Day" on Saturday, Aug. 17. The store, in conjunction with Dean Markley Strings, is offering to change the strings on a guitar - with no charge for the strings or for the installation. This service will be provided on the spot while the customer waits. There are some "strings attached", though: Customers are asked to bring a non-perishable food item (or three) that will be donated to a local charity for the less fortunate. Dixie Music Center has been an authorized dealer for Dean Markley strings since they opened their doors in 1991.

There are some conditions for the free restring, including: offer is limited to one per customer; guitar must be a steel-string electric, acoustic, or acoustic-electric six-string; and guitar must be in good working condition. No Floyd Rose-type tremelo guitars, please. Customers must stay with their instrument before and during the free service. This offer may be limited to the first fifty participants. The store will also be offering complimentary hot dogs and sodas for customers during the event. Dixie Music will open at 9 a.m. on that day with the restringing beginning at 10 a.m. For complete details and conditions of qualifying guitars, please check the store's page on Facebook (facebook.com/dixiemusiccenter) or call the store at 352-542-3001.
