eeeeFlorida Virtual School (FLVS), Florida’s state-wide, public online learning program, is launching a new, full-time virtual school offering. The new full-time program, Florida Virtual School FT, was created to help districts meet the requirements of the School District Virtual Instruction Program and is available to all 6 through 12 grade public school students in districts where formal partnership agreements have been signed.eeWith the addition of the new, full-time program, Florida Virtual School is now providing students and schools within Florida with three (3) options for high-quality online learning: eeFLVS Classic: Open to all Florida students (public, private, parochial and home educated), this option allows students to supplement their traditional school program with online courses. Students work with a teacher to determine the learning pace, and registration can be completed at any time throughout the year. No school district partnership is required, and students are not required to complete courses according to the 180-day calendar.eeFLVS Connections Academy (FLVS CA): Open to public school students, grades K through 8, in partnering school districts. Registration is required; attendance is taken and students must complete classes within the 180-day school calendar. To be eligible, students had to be registered as public school students during the 2008-09 school year.eeFLVS Full-Time (FLVS FT): Open to middle and high school students in partnering school districts. Registration is required; attendance is taken and students must complete classes within the 180-day school calendar. To be eligible, students had to be registered as public school students during the 2008-09 school year.eeRegistration for all three (3) programs is currently open and can be completed online at: www.flvs.net. eeAll FLVS offerings use the school’s award-winning courses that meet state and national standards. State- and subject-certified FLVS teachers lead instruction for each of the programs.eeStudents in school districts offering the FLVS CA or FLVS FT programs must complete registration by August 15 and should plan to start courses on August 24. Only public school students from partnering school districts are eligible to enroll in FLVS CA and FLVS FT programs.
