It's the end of the school year and groups are honoring their best.
Thursday night it was the annual Chiefland FFA banquet , the group's 80th anniversary gathering. Families feasted on a BBQ pork dinner, then parents spent the next two hours watching their children collect awards for their accomplishments.
Dozens of girls and boys strutted to the stage in their blue corduroy jackets, white short, FFA ties, black skirt or pants, and for the girls black stockings and plain black pumps, for the boys, black shoes. Some put on their best smiles for photos. Some put on their best business faces.
When the Citizen emailed a couple of parents photos from the event the replies came back: We are so proud of them.
Look for the faces — smiling and serious — in the Citizen in the coming weeks because we feel their pride.
