Anyone who can make chili, including those who think they make the best chili are invited to compete in the Chiefland FFA Alumni 4th Annual Homemade Chili Cookoff on Friday, Feb. 1, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Chiefland High School Ag Building.
The cookoff is a fundraiser for the Chiefland schools agriculture program.
The entry fee is $15 per person and entry forms, available from any FFA Alumni member and online at www.chieflandcitizen.com must be received by Thursday, Jan. 30. Return forms by mail to Chiefland FFA Alumni, P.O. Box 1821, Chiefland, FL 32644.
A panel of three judges will judge the three categories:
• Spiciest / Hottest
• Most Original and
• Best Overall
Each entry must be a minimum of 1 gallon of chili so everyone attending the event gets a taste.
Check-in for Participants is 4:45 p.m. Judging will begin at 5 p.m. Hot dogs and chili will be available to the public beginning at 5:30 p.m. for a $5 per person.
