A last-minute change in work crews ended up expediting the construction of the new Suwanee River Fair Grounds.
Local prison crews helped clean out all valuables at the existing facilities early last week. That left no need for the Saturday morning work day for area volunteers called by the Fair board.
“We appreciate people coming out because they would be here if we needed them,” said Fair president Loran Brookins. “We’d rather have the prisoners do it,”
