The Bronson Eagles pushed through Hawthorne’s defense, leading 22 to 8 at half time, though time and the Hornets’ tough running game wore down the Eagles. Hawthorne prevailed with a 32 to 22 win over the Eagles.
“The team’s effort was exceptionally good, but Montrez Jackson stood out with over 100 rushing yards at half time”, head coach Cameron Porch said about his team’s effort.
Bronson tallied a total of 22 points with an aggressive running game, along with their defense, which held Hawthorne back.
After halftime, Hawthorne went from pass plays failing them to a running game that seemed to tire out the Eagles’ defense.
“Coming into the second half we let our guard down, not expecting the Hornets to come out as strong as they did”, Dakota Robertson said.
Paris McDaniels of Hawthorne made a big difference in the Hornet defense, holding the Eagles to their halftime score of 22 points.
Porch said, “The team always shows great effort and handles their adversity.” Porch said.
