Two people were arrested Thursday in connection with burglaries in and around Chiefland where residents lost guns, a pressure washer and checks that were used to purchase goods that were later returned for cash, according to a Levy Sheriff's Office spokesman.
Levy County Sheriff's Detectives Jimmy Anderson and Mike Wilkinson arrested John Wayne Pipkin, 36, and Kelly Michelle Colson, 28, are accused of break-ins that started in November 2012.
Anderson and Wilkinson recovered the stolen property, including six guns, that is valued in excess of $2,940. In addition to the property recovered, detectives obtained confessions from the two whom had uttered stolen/forged checks to area businesses in excess of $500.
Pipkin's bond is $665,000 on three charges of burglary, four charges of grand theft, one charge of 1st degree petit theft, three counts of dealing in stolen property, possession of weapons by a convicted felon and possession of a weapon by a violent career criminal.
Colson's bond is $165,000 bond on two counts of burglary, two counts of grand theft, one count of grand theft of a firearm and one count of 1st degree petit theft.
