Duke Energy nuclear cost hearing begins Monday

TALLAHASSEE — Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) will convene a hearing Monday, Aug. 4, to consider Duke Energy Florida, Inc. (DEF) and Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) petitions for cost recovery related to nuclear construction projects.  The hearing could continue through Friday, Aug. 8, if needed.

During the hearing, information will be examined concerning FPL and DEF’s activities and cost of siting and licensing new nuclear facilities and constructing enhancements to current facilities. The PSC evaluates these costs annually. The hearing will cover information concerning the determination of costs eligible for recovery during 2015.

The hearing is set for the following times and location:

Monday-Friday, Aug. 4-8

Monday, 1 p.m.; Tuesday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.
