'Drowsy Chaparone' adds weekend performance

-A A +A

The Suwannee Valley Players production of "The Drowsy Chaperone," a musical within a comedy, has added a Sunday matinee performance in its final weekend at the Chief Theatre, 25 E. Park Avenue.
Join the cast of this musical within a comedy crammed full of every cliche, gag and gimmick from the golden age of musicals. Characters include a wealthy dowager, debonair bridegroom, a harried producer, jovial gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a flaky "feldzig" chorus girl trying to steal the stage, a Latin lothario trying to woo the bride-to-be, an aviatrix, and of course the drowsy chaperone.
The show runs through Sunday and has performances Friday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students through 12th grade and seniors 65 or older. Visit www.svplayers.org for more information.
