The Chiefland High boys junior varsity basketball team kept it close against host Dixie County for a while last Friday night, but a second half cold spell allowed the host team to pull away to a 58-34 victory.
Chiefland pulled to within 41-29 early in the third quarter. However, Dixie rattled off 16 straight points as the Indians suffered from poor passing and shooting.
The Chiefland JVs played Tuesday night at Williston and are home against Newberry on Friday night.
