In 1952, I came home from boot camp just in time to get in on a cattle trapping, cattle roping and cattle shooting deal in a rough pasture south of the St. Lucie Canal.
An old cowman had some cattle he had to get off of a leased place. He had decided the easiest way was to sell the cattle in the pasture to my dad and let him worry about how to get them. The way the transaction was to work was a good chance for us to make some money.
