William Brown stood up at Tuesday's Levy County Commission meeting, and by the time he yielded the floor he had three accomplishments to his book.
Brown, co-founder of The Children's Table, first introduced the commission to Tyler Beauchamp, son of Mickey and Cheryl Beauchamp, of Bronson.
Young Beauchamp is a member of the Future Farmers of America and as a project planted and harvested seven acres of peas for Children's Table to be distributed to feed families in need. Brown presented Beauchamp with a plaque honoring his gift.
"You have earned your seat at The Children's Table," Brown said as the commission and the audience gave the Bronson Middle/High School student a standing ovation.
Brown was then joined by county Department of Health Director Barbara Locke, who reported on a joint effort of Children's Table, the department, Elder Options and other agencies to conduct community outreach at various Levy County locations.
Some events have already been held at Inglis, Otter Creek, and Bronson. Two more events will be held Saturday in Fanning Springs and Chiefland's southside.
