-A A +A

Some are aware, but many are not, that April 26 is an Official Holiday according to state law for the State of Florida. April 26 is designated as Confederate Memorial Day. This is a day set aside to honor the men who so valiantly served defending the South or Confederacy from 1861- 1865. As a note, Confederate Veterans are recognized the same as any other United States Veteran. See U.S. Public Law 85-425: Sec. 410 Approved 23 May 1958. Also U.S. Public Law 810, Approved by 17th Congress 26 February 1929. Also see Congressional Appropriations Act, FY 1901, signed 6 June 1900.
