Manatee Awareness Month event
Manatee Springs State Park will host a program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of its celebration of Manatee Awareness Month in January. With the cooler weather, the featured guests will be the manatees, along with partners in manatee protection awareness, education and enforcement.

Knotts Library hosts speaker
The Friends of A.F. Knotts Public Library located at 11 56th Street in Yankeetown is partnering with the Florida Humanities Council to bring Dr. Gary Mormino to speak at 1:30 p.m. at the library. Dr Mormino will be speaking on "Land of Sunshine, State of Dreams: A Social History of Modern Florida.” The program is free and open to the public.
