To the editor:

In reference to Ms. Jones "opinion" comments I am in complete disagreement.

First, it is CAAA, not CYAA, which is a direct reflection of the writer not being "from" here or she would have heard the term enough to know the acronym.

Also, to say that there are people "not from here... that support this city" is also completely out of context.

Those "folks" Ms. Jones refers to have taken a vested interest in the community and live part of their lives here or contribute to the well being of the community. They do not come in, use the facilities, deteriorate the facilities and then leave it for someone else to clean up or repair.

The football organization being referenced has been turned down by every public school they have requested to practice/play at because they tear up the field.

If I'm not mistaken law enforcement has been called out to their "practices/games" at Strickland around a dozen times for various reasons.

I have no problem letting organizations use any facility as long as the kids it's intended for also are able to utilize facilities.
