Ok, I was not ready for fall. I know I am not ready for winter. Not this winter with these temperatures. And I have my own weather signs for judging the temperature.
Here are the signs:
The TV in the screenporch/man cave is off when I get home from work. The carnivore is spending less time smoking on the porch, especially after dark.
The cat's kill — a squirrel from the night before — is solid enough to make a nice frisbee for disposal. Mark Scohier found a solid mole in his yard the day before. No cat to blame for that one.
There is muttering about dripping pipes. A couple of days ago it was just one pipe behind the barn that needed dripping. Now it's "pipe-S." And I have no idea of where they are located.
Turning the heater on in the old Bronco II results in a pound of dust on me, the seats and the floor. It has been awhile.
The folks from Michigan are heading north on U.S. 27A/U.S.19 instead of south. Saw two of them this morning on the drive from Bronson to Chiefland.
What are your weather signs?
