A Williston convenience store clerk was arrested last week for selling drugs from his place of business.
Illahi Waqas, 27, of Williston was charged with two counts trafficking in a controlled substance, three counts sale of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, three counts resisting with violence and possession of cannabis/less than 20 grams.
According to the arrest report from the Levy County Sheriff's office, the Drug Task Force had suspected illegal activity at the store for some time and sent undercover officer Rob Bowers into the Fast Tracks Food Mart/Exxon station with marijuana.
After Bowers laid several items on the counter, he told Waqas about shoulder pain he had experienced and proceeded to pull money and the marijuana from his pocket.
Waqas then allegedly asked Bowers if he was interested in purchasing Lortabs in exchange for the marijuana. Bowers said he was but thought it best to leave the store due to the surveillance camera.
