Skateboarders can thrash well into the night after the Chiefland City Commission decided against installing a fence to lock up the park at night and instead look into lighting the facility.
Commissioner Rollin Hudson had expressed concern for the city’s liability risk by allowing skateboarders to ride in the new park facility after dark.
Mayor Teal Pomeroy told the commission he and his wife recently picked up dinner and ate at Delma Locke Park while watching about 20-30 skateboarders. He mentioned the fencing proposal.
