Chiefland City Manager Grady Hartzog was due to have an evaluation and contract renewal at Monday's City Commission special meeting, but he instead told the city's leaders he's ready to give it a rest.
He tendered his resignation effective Feb. 14, but later in the meeting agreed to stay on long enough for the city to find a replacement. Plans will bve made to advertise the position.
