City looks to annex FFA land

BRONSON –The School Board of Levy County gave its blessings for the City of Chiefland to annex a 3 1/2-acre lot located at U.S. 129 and C.R. 321 at its Oct. 9 meeting.

The lot is used by Future Farmers of America for agricultural purposes. The change of designation from county to city will not affect the tax base on the land.

Chiefland requested to annex the land to make it contiguous to another large parcel north of there off 321. That 110-acre parcel, which is also currently agricultural, is up for petition at City Council in the near future.
