n Methodist men meet Saturday
The regular second Saturday breakfast meeting of United Methodist Men is at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Fellowship Hall of the Chiefland First United Methodist Church, 707 N. Main St.
n UMC honors those married in church
As part of the year long 150th celebration of the First Methodist Church of Chiefland, all couples married in the church will be honored on Sunday, Feb. 13 at the 10:15 a.m. morning worship service and a Sweetheart Luncheon. Many couples are returning to Chiefland to attend this celebration. If you were married in First UMC, please contact the church office at 352-493-4627 or e-mail fumc_chf@yahoo.com or any church member and provide a wedding picture to be used during this special occasion. Drop the picture off at the church office so that it can be scanned and immediately returned. Please pass the word on to any couples married in the church so they can join the special service.  
The Sweetheart Luncheon is being provided and prepared by the Sunshine Disciples.
n Yankeetown church steak dinner Friday
A baked steak dinner will be held at Parsons Memorial Presbyterian Church, Yankeetown, at 4-6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11. There is a $6.50 donation and there will be a $50 money tree. Take-out is available by calling 352-447-2506.
n Share Valentine's at St. John's
Treat your Valentine right by going to the St. Vincent de Paul spaghetti supper at St John the Evangelist Catholic church from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14. The menu includes spaghetti, salad, bread and desserts, even some low in sugar, all for the cost of a bag of nonperishable foods for the community food shelf. n Chiefland COG hosts 3rd Annual Chili Challenge
The North Chiefland Church of God will be hosting a chili cook-off and potluck dinner Saturday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m.  Chili will be judged in three categories: Hottest, Sweetest and Best Overall.  Antacids and a fire extinguisher will be readily available.  The church is located on U.S. 19, across from Chiefland Dodge.  Bring your best chili or a covered dish for a shot at the prizes.
