 n UMC honors those married in church

 As part of the year long 150th celebration of the First Methodist Church of Chiefland, all couples married in the church will be honored on Sunday, Feb. 13 at the 10:15 a.m. morning worship service and a Sweetheart Luncheon. Many couples are returning to Chiefland to attend this celebration. If you were married in First UMC, please contact the church office at 352-493-4627 or e-mail fumc_chf@yahoo.com or any church member and provide a wedding picture to be used during this special occasion. Drop the picture off at the church office so that it can be scanned and immediately returned. Please pass the word on to any couples married in the church so they can join the special service.  

The Sweetheart Luncheon is being provided and prepared by the Sunshine Disciples. 

n Full Gospel to host Singing Reflectsons

The Full Gospel Outreach Church is excited to have the Singing Reflectsons on Sunday, February 6, in the 11 a.m. worship service. The group sings Southern gospel music.  The church is located at 14790 NW Hwy19 and can be reached at 352.493.1175. 

n Calvary Worship Center

Calvary Worship Center will host Gloria Elliot as guest speaker on Sunday, Feb. 6, for Worship and the Word. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The church is at the corner of County Road 339A and Highway 320.

n Ice cream social at St. Alban's 

St. Alban's Episcopal Church will hold its Annual Ice Cream Social at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6,  in the fellowship hall. Sugar-free ice cream and cake will be available. Tickets are $2 at the door for adults and $1 for children. 

Proceeds will be used to buy a camel for a Third World country.

n Yankeetown church holds steak dinner

A baked steak dinner will be held at Parsons Memorial Presbyterian Church, Yankeetown, at 4-6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11. There is a $6.50 donation and there will be a $50 money tree. Take-out is available by calling 352-447-2506. 

n Have Valentine's at St. John's

Treat your Valentine right by going to the St. Vincent de Paul spaghetti supper at St John the Evangelist Catholic church from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14. The menu includes spaghetti, salad, bread and desserts, even some low in sugar, all for the cost of a bag of nonperishable foods for the community food shelf.
