The students at Chiefland High School held their presidential straw poll at the same time as voting for the 2012 Homecoming queen, king, prince and princess on Thursday, Oct. 25.
The winner in the student vote was Republican nominee Mitt Romney with 210 votes to incumbent President Barack Obama, a Democrat, according to Supervisor of Elections-elect Tammy Jones, who oversaw the voting.
Kelly Varnes who oversees student activities at the school, said there were some votes for other candidates, including fringe party candidate Roseanne Barr and some write-in votes.
