Chiefland’s golf team came away with a fourth place finish in Monday’s regional tournament in Jacksonville.
The Indians finished with a team score of 318, two shots better than when they won district a week ago, behind a pair of 76s by Richard Ruth and Logan Smith, which were both top 10 individually. Alden Smith and Justin Ivey each shot an 83. Jacksonville’s Bolles shot an 8-under par as a team to win the regional. CHS coach Dave Mitchell said Ruth and Smith were able to shoot low scores because “they hit it well off the tee” on a long course.
