The Chiefland City Commission unanimously gave final approval to a $4,607,492.48 budget and a 4.75 mills property tax for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1.
The vote was 4-0 with Commissioner Rollin Hudson absent from the Sept. 23 meeting.
The commission approved a $3,019,366.18 general fund budget. $1,553,797.64 utility service fund, $26,328.66 Industrial Park Fund, and $8,000 Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
One of the largest items in the budget is the Police Department at $917,644.85 in expenses from the general fund.
