Chiefland man arrested on witness tampering
Levy County Sheriff's Office arrested Greg Roland, 55, of Chiefland on Jan. 19 and charged him with tampering with a witness. The Drug Task Force Agents received information that Roland was threatening a confidential source utilized by the Sheriff's Office and had placed a $5,000 bounty on the person.
According to a Sheriff's Office press release Roland approached the source — who was sitting in a car having a conversation on a cell phone with Agent Burt Miller— and told him he had a $5,000 bounty on him.
Roland was arrested in the South Chiefland area. His bond is $500,000.
