The long-awaited Tri-County Hospital will be ready for occupancy Sept. 1, 2014, according to the latest timeline supplied to Chiefland staff and officials at a meeting Nov. 13.
Frank Shupp, vice president for business development for Ameris Health Systems LLC., the company endeavoring to construct the hospital, made an unscheduled appearance at the night’s regular meeting to update the commission.
Although there was little discussion on the matter, Shupp’s timeline shows that site preparation on the 20-acre parcel, located behind Walmart, will be completed by August of next year. Construction will begin the following month. A license and initiation of service, according to the timeline, is expected to happen by October 2014.
It’s unclear whether an initial groundbreaking for the hospital will occur before the end of this month, as stated previously by Shupp.
The hospital, according to earlier comments by Shupp, will employ about 300 people, with an annual payroll of about $11 million.
