Chiefland’s Morgan state Watermelon Queen

Meagan Morgan of Chiefland was crowned the 2014 Florida Watermelon Queen during the recent 46th Annual Florida Watermelon Association Convention held in Tampa.

The 19-year-old is a student at Santa Fe College majoring in Dental Hygiene with a minor in Business.  She enjoys playing volleyball, cooking with her grandma, helping with the local livestock fair, and spending time outdoors. She is also a member of the Florida Dental Club and a FFA State Degree Recipient.  

Morgan will travel extensively throughout the state, the country and Canada making guest appearances and promoting the Florida Watermelon industry.  She will help inform the public on both the economical and nutritional value of watermelons.

Meagan is the daughter of Peggy Morgan and the late Mickey Morgan, of Chiefland. She is also a graduate of Chiefland High School Class of 2012 where she finished in the Top 10.
