Central Florida Community College will officially become the College of Central Florida on Tuesday, May 25, and a celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 26, at 9 a.m. at the CFCC Levy Center, 114 Rodgers Blvd. in Chiefland.

The name change follows a year-long process that included a survey of the community, approval by the CFCC District Board of Trustees and the State Board of Education. During the five-week survey, 580 distinct names were sorted from 1,480 submissions.

The celebrations include unveiling of major signage which will reveal a new college logo. A revised college Web site will also be launched the week of May 25. To learn more about the name change, visit Name Change FAQs at the college Web site, www.CF.edu.
