The fourth grade classes at Chiefland Elementary School rallied Monday afternoon as their studies for the writing skills portion of the FCAT came to an end.

The students were treated to a visit from Alice, the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit, an inspirational film on “never giving up” and cupcakes.

They soon had the frosting on their noses, frosting moustaches on their lips and a song in their hearts as the teachers led them in an impromptu chorus.

Patrice McCully, CES principal who is also known as “Alice,”  emceed the event urging the children to get a good night’s sleep, not be late, and to not give up on finishing the test on Tuesday.
